Miami Dade College Partners with AI4ALL College Pathways Initiative to Prepare Students for Careers in Artificial Intelligence

Miami, August 16, 2021 – Miami Dade College (MDC) has partnered with the AI4ALL College Pathways initiative to introduce and prepare students for careers in the burgeoning Artificial Intelligence (AI) industry.

AI4ALL College Pathways is an initiative designed to spark interest and increase persistence in AI-related careers for undergraduate students who represent new voices in AI. The program offerings are co-hosted with universities to connect participants with an approachable introduction to AI, internships, career-readiness resources, and a supportive on-campus peer community.

“We are very excited to create an AI community at MDC,” said Antonio Delgado, Dean of MDC’s School of Engineering and Technology (EnTec). “This strategic collaboration with AI4ALL will accelerate the implementation of AI courses at the college to educate a diverse AI talent pool,”

As part of the collaboration, EnTec will expand the offering of AI-related courses, promote community building by connecting students to an inclusive group of peers and mentors, and offer AI-related career development activities at the AI Center currently under development at North campus.

“AI4ALL College Pathways is pleased to partner with Miami Dade College to support undergraduates to enter into and persist in AI,” said Dr. Roshni Kasad, Senior Director, AI4ALL College Pathways. “MDC offers the unique advantage of serving a large number of students historically excluded from AI in the emerging tech hub of Miami. AI4ALL is dedicated to unleashing the potential of students who might not already be on an AI career path, and we know that top-notch talent comes from everywhere.”

EnTec is currently offering AI Thinking, a credit course that connects students with the Discover AI program from AI4ALL. The online course, which starts on Sept. 29, will provide a scholarship that reimburses tuition to all students who register.
